PROVIDING HOPE IN CRISIS

HERE IS THE SITUATION:

During this public health crisis in our nation, Oliver Gospel is on the front lines serving one of our most marginalized populations in Columbia: The Homeless. During these uncertain times, services for the homeless to receive food, water, shelter, medical supplies, and hygiene products change on a daily basis, creating anxiety, confusion and even greater need as the homeless population grows in Columbia. Oliver Gospel is committed to providing hope, basic needs and human services 24/7 for our community in a way that is safe and robust.

INCREASED NEED:

  • Oliver Gospel has increased its meal service by 50% in in the last 2 weeks.  We project an even greater increase in the weeks and months to come as our community feels the impact of the shelter-in-place ordinance.

  • Children served at Toby’s Place require additional resources, as schools have closed.

  • Oliver Gospel’s hygiene safety procedures for our guests have increased and now include: social distancing, hand sanitizer stations, health screening via infrared thermometers, masks and gloves, and regular surface cleaning.

  • While the men, women, and children in residence at Oliver Gospel are safe and cared for, we could all use much encouragement and prayer. Would you consider partnering with Oliver Gospel to help our homeless neighbors during COVID-19?

WHEN CONTRIBUTING TO COVID-19 RELIEF, YOUR DOLLARS WILL PROVIDE:

  • Meals for the community homeless and the residents in our addiction and life recovery programs. We are serving over 290 meals a day, with numbers projected to increase.

  • Take-out meal trays and plastic wear. This allows our community homeless to receive hot meals that can be eaten at a safe social distance.

  • Bottled water served to the homeless daily.

  • Cleaning supplies to keep Oliver Gospel’s residents safe and healthy.

  • Hygiene and medical supplies.

  • Fun, safe, and engaging activities for our children while under quarantine.

  • Continued shelter and addiction recovery services
